Carnegie Harriers host the 22nd Auld Toun 10K Road Race in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27th May 2009.

This event is always popular with runners of all abilities with every finisher receiving a race medal and there are awards in all categories.

We are expecting about 400 runners to take part in this year’s event and pre-entry is encouraged.

The race entry fee is £7 (SAL members) and £9 (Non-SAL) with entries on the night an additional £2.00.

We are pleased to announce that entries for our 2009 Auld Toun 10K Road Race are now open.

The event will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27th May from Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. Entries are being accepted on-line by clicking HERE or you can download an entry form HERE.

We have kept the race entry fee for our 2009 event at £7/£9 for pre-race entries and at £9/£11 for entry on the night.

All finishers will receive a race medal and there will be awards in all age group categories. There is a race limit of 400 runners and pre-race entries are most appreciated.

Murray Strain and Ros Alexander retain their Auld Toun 10K titles

Murray Strain headed a field of 280 runners at the 22nd Auld Toun 10K Road Race in Dunfermline on Wednesday evening. Murray forged ahead of the leading pack at halfway and went on to retain his Auld Toun 10K title equalling the course record in 31.59.

Carnegie’s David Simpson ran a strong race to finish 2nd in 32.25 ahead of Steve Cairns (HBT) who was 3rd and 1st M40 in 32.36. Ian Johnston covered the challenging course in 38.37 (17th) to win the M50 award.

Ros Alexander (Carnegie Harriers) made a successful comeback to racing winning the ladies race in 39.10. This was Ros’s fourth Auld Toun 10K victory having previously won the race in 2004, 2005 and 2007. Fife AC’s Angela Howe placed 2nd lady in 39.34 and Kristin Lownie (Unattached) ran well finishing 3rd lady in 41.17. Jane Aitchison (Bonita RR) from San Diego, California won the F35 award clocking 42.39. Scottish 24 hour record holder Pauline Walker (Carnegie Harriers) won the F45 award in a time of 44.25.
